    G7CR Technologies: Disruptive Cloud Offerings

    Consumers of cloud platforms either build internal capacities or hire a managed services company to leverage cloud services. An India, based company with a subsidiary in Singapore - G7CR Technologies, is disrupting this entire model.

    The entire philosophy of G7CR’s offerings rests on aiding business heads to better concentrate on their core business. Businesses can find great value to fillip their growths as G7CR promises to take away the onus of the entire technology department from businesses. “We want CEOs and CIOs to stop investing their time worrying about the underlying technology and start focusing on strategies to take their business to the next level. They can forgo hiring an IT team, leave all the technology-related rigmaroles and complexities to us,” Richard adds.

    Technology Funding for SMEs – Get your Web & Mobile apps developed at No Cost

    The company is a panacea for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who despite wanting to adopt newer technologies are hamstrung by the associated costs and complexities. SMEs, which in most cases lack optimum tech-expertise, face a difficult conundrum today.
    In an increasingly digitizing world, they are left with no choice but to embrace digital transformation. Nonetheless, most of the solutions currently available are not easy to use and customize and are usually not affordable for SMEs. Add to this; IT solution providers insist that businesses purchase software in packages of which some components might never be used. All of this finally equates to smaller companies continuing to use manual processes or legacy systems.

    To enable such business entities to take the digital route, G7CR provides technology funding through its initiative called business enablement automation program (BEAP). Available exclusively for SMEs, BEAP can be accessed in two ways. In the first model, G7CR owns the intellectual property and the source code of the product. The product can be an application or a platform which automates business processes, and the client only has to pay the cloud hosting charges.

    The second model allows an SME to own the IP and the source code. The company, however, needs to pass some financial assessments and post-development transfer shares proportional to the developmental cost to G7CR. Even though the prospect of transferring equity might appear unsuitable for some companies, the appeal of this model lies in the fact that it allows SMEs to own bespoke solutions at costs around 60 percent lower than the current market rates packaged with free support & Enhancements.

    The products, services, and revenue model are designed prudently, keeping the needs of SMEs in mind. “If an SME comes to us wanting to automate a business operation, say leave management, we do that at an affordable price. We build the system, and they can use it for free and pay only for the cloud usage. For a company of 20 to 30 employees, it usually costs $75 - $90 a month,” says Richard.

    G7CR has a developed over a dozen of Custom application. One of them is a payment tracking system (Wasuli– Available for download on Play store) which has gained wide acceptance amongst SMEs. The system automates a business’s account receivable related processes, freeing up resources to concentrate on other mission-critical operations. G7CR also provides website designing and development services free of cost and the user only pays for hosting charges, which may accrete to just $10 a month.

    Technology Innovation – Educational Offering

    The firm has a customer retention rate of 100 percent which explicitly substantiates its blazing 500 percent growth rate as well as bears testimony to the quality of its deliverables.
    With 310 customers onboard, Richard states that the focus on innovation commands the steering. The company is heavily investing in cloud technologies to widen the dimensions of its utilities. One product recently out of the company’s innovation lab is a cloud-based lab and learning solution called Machine 4 Learning (M4L) which is built to revolutionize the education industry and has clocked around 4000 active users in just five months since its launch. To give a more precise perspective of the solution’s usability, Richard provides a peek into typical corporate and academic training approaches.

    Corporate training sessions require a large number of machines which need to be installed with necessary software individually. This is apart from bringing in an external trainer to hand-hold trainees through the process. Not only is the method costly, but is also inefficient by today’s standards. This approach restricts the training to a particular physical space with trainees rendered unable to access the software and brush-up lessons from another location such as a home. The same is the case in academic institutions where lab times are limited, and multiple labs need to be maintained to meet the requirements of different batches of students.

    On the flipside, being cloud-native, M4L allows trainees to access software from anywhere, at any time, and on any device. It provides them with a virtual machine and the required software. For example, if a company wants to train its employees on Visual Studio, all they have to do is specify the hardware configuration of cloud-based virtual machines, choose the base OS & select the required software from the list like Visual Studio, SQL Server, IE etc. The patent product is highly scalable and can spin up any number of machines on demand. “All that a trainee needs is any latest browser and internet connection. On request the machines are hardened for additional security i.e. we disable copy paste and similar features which cause data duplication and customize the product to client’s needs. Also, if a company wants to block access to certain websites from the machines, we do that too,” informs Richard. M4L, just like the managed services the company provides, is free of charge and users only need to pay for Cloud consumption which ranges from $0.5 an hour per machine with basic configuration to $5 for a virtual machine with high-end configuration.

    Doing Things Differently

    The company specifically targets the fast increasing market segment which intends to move into the cloud versus the lot which still wants to cling onto on-premise legacy systems. However, the appeal of robust managed services delivered through a model that affords unrivaled market price can very well become the driver to transmute the latter’s perception toward cloud adoption. Moving ahead, G7CR plans to inflate its workforce from the current strength of 700 to 2,500 in the next two years and fund around 100 SMEs in the coming year.
